France Launches The Tank-Hunting Drone Project, LARINAE

The French Defense Innovation Agency (AID) has approved a project called Larinae (Camar).

The project was submitted to Nexter Arrowtech, EOS Technologie and TRAAK on 16 June 2023.

The project was launched with the aim of developing a long-range capable armed reconnaissance drone.

Larinae can fly up to 50 km or in the air for one hour.

This long-stretched drone can fly high while looking for and stalking enemies.
Armed with multi-purpose air surface missiles it can attack targets such as tanks or enemy fortifications.

The platform can detect large targets from a distance of 15 km during the day and 3 km at night.

Once detected, the operator can decide whether to continue reconnaissance or launch a direct attack.

This Larinae development combines EOS Technologie's capabilities and experience in drone development.

While Nexter is in the manufacture of penetrator warheads (EFP) and TRAAK for advanced navigation systems.
